Description
“Loss of Support” was first climbed on September 21, 1997, by A. Theodoropoulos and Th. Michailidis.
It’s a beautiful and demanding sport route, known for its continuous difficulty, excellent bolting, and precise, technical movement on compact limestone slabs.
Pitch 1 (8 bolts): Begins to the right of Herodes, on a very smooth slab (VIII– / 6c+) with small holds, then continues with enjoyable climbing (VII / 6b) on good edges to the belay.
Pitch 2 (8 bolts): Entirely overhanging, with small edges on sharp rock and long, athletic moves (IX– / 7a).
Pitch 3: Short and easy, with no fixed protection, leading to the ledge belay.
Pitch 4 (8 bolts): Easier but equally beautiful; starts on a positive slab (VI+ / 6a) and finishes above a small roof (VII+ / 6b+).
Descent: 3 rappels down the route.
