Description

“Herodes” is a two-pitch mixed route of about 80 m in the Tower sector of Varasova. The line follows a vertical slab and a small arete, offering technical balance moves and a smooth, continuous flow. The crux (6a+) comes mid-route, short but sustained.
It has 6 bolts, one main belay, and a lower-off ring for descent. The limestone is compact and clean, providing secure placements for friends and nuts where needed.

The route blends sport-style slab climbing with the freedom of traditional protection, making it a balanced and elegant line for those who enjoy technical climbing with character and exposure.

Access

Located in the Tower sector, below the chapel of Saint Nicholas.
From Kryoneri, follow the main marked trail to the sector; it’s clear and steady, with a short final uphill section.
Herodes starts on the left side of the crag, near the routes Boogie Man and Tower.

Approach time: 20 minutes
