Rescue operation for three climbers in Varasova

The three climbers were found in the Varasova region of Aetolia-Acarnania, and the rescue operation is now fully underway.

Since Sunday night, the mountain search and rescue team of the 6th EMAK has been operating in the area with a four-member crew that located the group of three in a steep ravine near Perithori. The climbers had become disoriented and trapped in a hard-to-reach location, which significantly complicated the operation.

The rescue is still in progress, with rescuers proceeding cautiously due to the hazardous terrain. The Fire Service of Nafpaktos is also assisting in the effort, maintaining a safe position at the base of the mountain to provide support to the EMAK team.
