Description
The “Variation Entry of the Classic Ridge” is a short, alternative start to the classic route. It was created to avoid the exposed first section of the original ridge, especially when the sea is high or the rock is wet. The line follows a slab and a moderately angled ramp with easy climbing (4a) and connects directly to the second pitch of the Classic Ridge. The rock is solid, with no fixed protection, and the route offers a safer and more direct approach to the main part of the climb.
Access
Starting point: from Kryoneri. From the beach, follow the same approach as for the Classic Ridge. Before the main entry, traverse right (east) and ascend via a gentler ramp that leads directly to the second pitch of the main line. The path is short and easy to find.
Approach time: 20 minutes
